So let me tell you about my Hourglass Workout experience. To sum it up in a few words, I would have to say that is was definitely the most challenging workout I had ever done in my life. In my younger days, I used to run the 800 meter race, mind you I wasn’t very good at it, but I always had the endurance to get me through. So, I imagined the endurance aspect would assist me. I have always been active and up until recently, I thought I had a good grasp on working out. Perhaps, I did…but let me tell you, at the very least, I was enlightened by my experience at the Hourglass Workout classes. I had always wanted to try their classes to see what all the hype was about, and even though I worked out regularly, I was still intimidated. I finally mustered up the courage to sign up for some classes. I bought 8 classes + my free trial. I thought that would be a good way to experience different classes and instructors. I don’t know why I was intimidated or waited so long. They welcome everyone with open arms. My work brings me all over the city, but as I find myself downtown a lot of the time, I signed up for classes at the downtown location.
I was never an exercise class type of gal, but I was pleasantly surprised at Hourglass Workout. When you enter, you’re greeted by the lovely women at the front desk or your instructor depending on when you get there. There are areas to get changed and warm up, while you wait for your class to begin. The instructors are good about asking if anyone is new or isn’t familiar with an exercise so that everyone is on the same page. Exercises are demonstrated and explained and if you still can’t get it, they assist you. If you have a pre-existing injury, an alternate exercise is given to you.
The Scene: My first day of class. I was 15 minutes in and I began to worry, as I was almost exhausted and I knew the class was an hour long. I don’t know how I managed, but I completed the class with a great sense of accomplishment. I was told at the end of the class by many that your first class is always the hardest and that I had done well for my first class. In retrospect that was absolutely the truth. Don’t get me wrong, the rest of the classes didn’t get any easier, but I felt myself getting stronger with each class and I was happy I had finally signed up.
In my regular workouts, I spend about an hour at the gym. The Hourglass Workouts are about an hour, sometimes an hour and 15 minutes. Let me tell you something—the amount of work I normally do in my regular workout, doesn’t compare to the workout I get out of an Hourglass Workout class. One of the first things I had noticed was that the people in the classes were of all different fitness levels. Their classes are designed for anyone at any level and that’s where the magic comes in. Although, we all did the same exercises, we were using different weights, which makes the exercises work for all levels of fitness. You really do get out of the classes what you put in, so work hard! All of the instructors were awesome to work with and they pushed and challenged all of us. They were tough, but in a good way, if that makes any sense. The exercise combinations that the instructors design, give you the best results in a short amount of time.
I enjoyed my time at Hourglass Workout and will be signing up for more classes in the future. I have to say, I did experience some Hourglass Workout class withdrawal once my classes were finished, so I will be back. I encourage anyone who is looking to start exercising, switch up their routine, break bad exercise habits, get stronger, see and feel faster results, workout in an encouraging environment, to take their classes. There are many packages to choose from, and if you’re unsure, please feel free to contact them directly and they can help you select a package that makes the most sense for you and your fitness goals. There is also a one-time free trial, so what are you waiting for? Take a class, you won’t regret it.
